THIS MODEL EXCELS WHEN PLUGGED IN, BUT THE UNPLUGGED SOUND SOMETIMES OVER-LOOKED, IT IS TRULY SWEET AND UNIQUE (Lookup, on youTube Clapton / Knopfler - "Can't Find My Way Home"). THESE ARE NOT RARE BUT SURELY ARE HARD TO FIND. Case: Original hardshell case included along with the original hang tags & owner's manual. Due to the very small body, the natural acoustic tone is more compressed than in a more traditionally shaped acoustic guitar, which makes the sound very warm & rich with nice resonance. Playability / Sound: Nice, low action - neck plays well & is very comfortable. Rosewood bridge & tortoise pattern pickguard. Solid spruce top with mahogany back & sides. Body: Single-cutaway, small-body acoustic. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition. Silver Grover Rotomatic tuners in perfect working condition. Mother of pearl Guild & Chesterfield headstock logos. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Dark rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with micro side-dots. Pick Guard could be change or just smoothed out by your ruthier. THIS IS THE RARE, ORIGINAL OLDER THIN style with the 2-knob preamp If I remember the story, the 90s model with the preamp that Barry Gibb played was a signature model, yes, It was called Songbird. 1988ish would be my guess.This model was made in very low numbers as it did not prove popular at its time of conception, despite being showcased by Robin Gibb and Paul McCartney's guitarist Robbie McIntosh.
